Suggestions as you type

Quidough remembers what you’ve recorded before and offers it back as you type, which turns a repeat entry into a couple of taps.

Where they appear

Start typing in Description or Payee and a row of suggestions appears under the field. Tap one to use it. If nothing matches what you’ve typed, no row appears.

They fill in more than the field you’re in

This is the part worth knowing. A suggestion doesn’t just finish the word.

Pick a description and Quidough fills in the payee and the category from the last transaction you recorded with that description. Pick a payee and it fills in the description and category from the last thing you recorded for that payee.

So “Tesco” can arrive with Groceries already chosen, and all that’s left is the amount.

It matches anywhere in the word

You don’t have to start at the beginning. Typing “sco” finds “Tesco”. Capitals are ignored, and so are accents, so a payee you saved as “Café” comes up when you type “Cafe”.

Spending and income stay apart

Suggestions for money going out come from what you’ve spent, and suggestions for money coming in come from what you’ve earned. Recording a shop won’t offer you last month’s salary.

On transfers

Transfers get description suggestions too. They have no payee or category, so there’s nothing else to carry across.

It’s your own history, never a guess

Every suggestion is something you recorded yourself, most recent first. Nothing is invented, and nothing comes from outside your household.
