How to export your data

You can download everything in your household at any time, whether or not you have a subscription.

How to export

Go to Settings, under Your data, and choose Download backup. You get one file, ending in .json and named for the day you downloaded it.

It’s a copy. Nothing in your household changes, and you can do it as often as you like.

What’s in it

Everything in the household: your accounts and the groups they sit in, every transaction and transfer, your categories, payees and tags, your budgets and the caps you set month by month, your scheduled payments, and who is in the household. It also holds the days you opened Quidough.

Nothing about your card or your invoices. Those sit with the payment company, where you can download receipts any time. See your invoices and payment method.

Opening it

Any text editor will show it. It’s one long file, and a spreadsheet won’t open it directly.

There’s no way to load it back in

Quidough can’t import a backup. The file is yours to keep, read, or take elsewhere, but it isn’t a restore point.

If your access has ended

Export still works, for the whole 90 days your records are kept. See when your access ends.
