Deleting your household

Deleting a household erases it for everyone in it. That’s different from leaving, which takes you out and leaves the household running for the others.

Who can do it

Only the household’s owner, and only the owner sees the option. It’s in Settings, under Household.

What gets erased

Everything in the household: every account, transaction, budget and all its history, for every person in it, not just yours. There’s no way back.

Quidough offers you a backup to download first, and asks you to type the household’s name before it will go ahead.

What happens to everyone else

They’re emailed as soon as it happens. The next time any of you opens Quidough, a short message stands in place of the app explaining what happened, and offers two ways on: sign out, or start a household of your own.

Your subscription

If the household had one, deleting it cancels the subscription at the end of the period already paid for.

Your sign-in

Deleting a household never deletes your Quidough account. You can start a new household straight away, or join someone else’s with an invite.

If you do neither, your sign-in details are removed 14 days later.
