Using Quidough offline

You can add and edit transactions and transfers without a connection: on a plane, in an elevator, anywhere. Each change appears right away, waits on your device, and syncs by itself once you’re back online, even if you close Quidough or your phone restarts in between.

What needs a connection

Everything else you create or change: accounts, budgets, categories, scheduled payments, and settings. Their Save button is switched off while you’re offline, with a short note saying why. Offline covers the everyday part, adding and editing transactions and transfers, so that part always works.

Changes waiting to sync

A transaction or transfer you added offline carries a small orange cloud with an arrow beside its name until it reaches Quidough. Hover over it on a computer and it says “Waiting to sync”. Once the change is through, the cloud goes away by itself.

What the cloud means

A gray cloud with a line through it means you’re offline, and it says “Offline, showing saved data”. Everything on screen is your own saved copy, it’s all still there, and there’s nothing for you to do.

An orange cloud with a cross means Quidough thinks you’re connected but couldn’t fetch the latest anyway, and it says “Couldn’t refresh, showing saved data”. Tap Retry. If it still can’t get through, the message comes back a couple of seconds later.

“Couldn’t refresh” never means something you saved has gone missing. Quidough keeps the word “sync” for a change that couldn’t be saved.

While you’re offline, profile photos and account logos may show initials instead of the picture. Your numbers and history are all there.

What signing out does

Signing out removes the saved copy from that device. If anything is still waiting to sync, Quidough warns you first, because signing out at that point would lose it.
